How to Pay with Crypto

A step-by-step guide for total first-timers. No jargon, no experience needed.

Paying with crypto sounds intimidating, but it's really three moves: get some crypto in an app you already trust, scan the QR code on your invoice, and hit send. This page walks you through it with Cash App — the simplest route for most people in the US — and then shows the shorter paths if you'd rather use ETH, USDC, or XRP.

This page is about how to pay an invoice — nothing here is financial advice, and you only need to buy the exact amount of your order.

The Cash App route (Bitcoin) — easiest for first-timers

Cash App is the green dollar-sign app many people already have for splitting dinner. It can buy and send Bitcoin, which makes it the shortest path from "no crypto" to "order paid."

1

Open Cash App and tap the Bitcoin tab (the ₿ symbol in the bottom row, sometimes under "Money"). If it's your first time, Cash App will ask you to verify your identity — a photo of your ID and a minute or two of waiting. This is normal and happens once.

2

Buy slightly more than your order total. If your order is $120, buy about $130 of Bitcoin — the small cushion covers Cash App's purchase fee and the network's sending fee, so you're not stuck a dollar short at the finish line.

3

Enable withdrawals if asked. The first time you send Bitcoin out of Cash App it may ask you to confirm your identity again or enable "Bitcoin withdrawals" in settings. Say yes to everything — you're just unlocking the send button.

4

On our checkout page, choose Pay with Crypto → Bitcoin and tap Get Payment Details. You'll see a QR code, an exact BTC amount, and an address. That screen is your invoice — leave it open.

5

In Cash App: Bitcoin tab → Send (the little arrow) → scan the QR code on our checkout screen with your phone's camera. Cash App fills in the address for you — no typing. If you're on one device, tap Copy next to the address on our invoice and paste it instead.

6

Enter the exact BTC amount from the invoice — use the Copy button next to "Send exactly" and paste it. Sending the exact amount is how our system recognizes your payment.

7

Choose the standard/priority speed if offered, confirm, and send. That's it. Keep the checkout tab open — it watches for your payment and flips to a confirmation screen on its own, usually within 10–30 minutes for Bitcoin.

The one rule that matters: send the right coin on the right network, to the address on your invoice, for the exact amount shown. Crypto sent to a wrong address or on a wrong network cannot be recovered by anyone — not us, not the app.

Already have ETH or USDC? The 60-second path

1

At checkout choose Pay with Crypto → USDC on Base (cheapest fees), USDC on Ethereum, or ETH. Tap Get Payment Details.

2

In your wallet or exchange app (Coinbase, Exodus, MetaMask…), tap Send, scan the QR or paste the address, and paste the exact amount.

3

Double-check the network matches what the invoice says — "USDC on Base" must be sent on Base; "USDC on Ethereum" on Ethereum — then send. The page confirms automatically once the network settles it (usually a few minutes).

Paying with XRP? One extra number

XRP is fast and the fees are tiny, but XRP payments carry one extra field: a destination tag. Your invoice shows a number labeled Destination tag — required. When your wallet asks for a "destination tag" (some apps call it a "memo" or "tag"), enter that number exactly.

The destination tag is how your payment gets matched to your order. XRP sent without the tag arrives at the right address but with no name on it — it won't confirm automatically and you'll need to contact us with your transaction ID to sort it out by hand.
